Always Follow The Manufacturers Recommendations And Use Their Cleaning Products
For stubborn stains, lightly dampen a soft cloth with manufactures recommended cleaner. Apply directly to stain. Repeat procedure as necessary. Do not use petroleum based cleaners on water base finishes.
Avoid Spike Heels And Furniture Glides
Spike heels are damaging to hardwood flooring, especially in disrepair areas. Round headed chair glides and narrow wheels on furniture legs are also harmful. They can scratch or permanently dent your floor. Spread the weight. Use commercially made felt protectors or furniture coasters to prevent scratches and dents.
Grit Is One Of The Biggest Dangers To Your Floor
Keep a doormat inside and outside enterances to catch grit. Regularly sweep or vacuum your floors since grit and dirt can damage the floors. If you have pets, make sure to keep their nails trimmed and paws free of dirt, grit, oil and stains.
